WELCOME TO ANY VISITORS who may be with us this PENTECOST weekend, staying with family or just visiting the area. You are very welcome to stay for coffee after our Sunday morning Masses and meet some of our parishioners. Coffee will also be served this weekend at Hoveton after the Saturday 5.30 pm Mass

SENIOR CITIZEN’S GROUP meets Monday 12th May: am - EXTEND; pm Betty Dady will give a talk on her recent visit to the House of Commons.
Monday 19th May. Pilgrimage to Walsingham. All parishioners and friends are warmly invited to join us - an opportunity if you missed the Diocesan Pilgrimage last Monday or prefer to go on a day that is not so crowded. Details from Marianne.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Christian Aid - the town collection in North Walsham on this coming Thursday. We still need another couple of volunteers to do an hour stint at one of the designated collection points—please give your names to Fr David TODAY.

ST HELEN’S COMMUNITY MEETING will be held after the 5.30 pm Mass on Saturday 17th May. There is a sheet in the porch for parishioners to put on suggestions for inclusion in the agenda. The first meeting in February was very successful and it would be good to see even more people at the next one on 17th May.

ANNUAL OPEN PARISH MEETING & SOCIAL on Monday 19th May at 7pm in the hall at North Walsham. In addition to the following details - Any items you wish to raise, please put in writing to Celia Cooper (Chair of PPC) by 16th May. This year we have a “Cambodian flavour” to the evening, starting with a simple meal followed by a Presentation on the ‘Recent visit to Cambodia’ and finishing with a brief review of the parish over the past 12 months. We need to know exact numbers attending by this weekend so please sign up on the list at the back of the church asap - thanks.

STALHAM AREA: House Mass this Friday at Jane Bowden’s, 29 Heron Gardens, Stalham at 7.30 pm. All are welcome.

CHILDREN’S PILGRIMAGE TO WALSINGHAM takes place on Tuesday 27th May which is during the school half-term holiday. The day starts with a procession from the village at 10.45 am. Mass at the Chapel of Reconciliation at 12.00 noon followed by a picnic in the meadow and finally ending the day on the beach at nearby Wells-Next-The-Sea. Any musicians or servers from our parish will be most welcome. Bishop Michael will be leading the day: He hopes to see as many of the children from the Diocese as possible celebrating with him. DO GO ALONG—IT’S ALWAYS A GREAT DAY!

HOBBLE WITH THE BISHOP - 18th May 2008 A sponsored walk in Thetford Forest for all young people of secondary school age. Raising money for young people in Cambodia and the Holy Land. OUR DIOCESAN FAMILY NEWSPAPER now available at rear of the church, FREE. There is also a selection of Monthly and Weekly Catholic Papers for sale, including a “one off” recent publication: “The Vatican” - treasures of the world @ £3.50
MASS LOBBY OF MPs on Human Fertilisation & Embryology Bill at the Houses of Parliament, Wednesday, 14th May at 12.30 pm. Those wishing to attend and represent our Parish please see Fr David for more details. If attendance is not possible, we are urged to phone our MP on 020 7219 3000 to ask him to vote against the bill.

OUR PARISH FETE - Saturday 21st June. Raffle tickets will be on sale today.
Urgently needed any kind of help both on Fri. 20th and Sat. 21st with setting up and also manning the stalls. Donations of any of the items listed, plus bottles for the bottle stall will be most welcome. Please see poster in the porch for details.

CORPUS CHRISTI PROCESSESSION at North Walsham on Sunday 25th May at 3pm. We will be joined by the parish of Cromer and Sheringham. Do note the date.

CARING FOR GOD’S CREATION - multimedia talk on Catholicism and the Environment with Bishop Declan Lang (Bishop for the Environment) and Mary Colwell, award-winning radio & TV natural history producer. GO KARTING in Ipswich on 30th May (Friday of half term). Organised by the Diocesan Youth Service. For anyone of secondary school age. Rumour has it the Bishop is taking part! DAY OF RENEWAL led by Sr Maria Natella OP, head of the Catholic Mission for adults and youth. Her theme for the day is Fanning the Flames in the Catholic Church. Takes place at Bowthorpe Church Ctr. Bowthorpe Hall Rd. Costessey, Norwich on Saturday 7th June at 10.00 am to 4.30 pm-includes Mass, Exposition and Confession.

DIOCESAN SUMMER CAMPS 2008 for children of 8 - 14 years, will be held at Eccles Hall, Norfolk from Friday 22nd till Monday 25th August. Contact Fr David for information and application form or Christine Storman on 01603 713390. See poster. (It may be possible to help with funding)

GIFT AID DONATIONS - Tax Year 2007/2008. Very many thanks to all our Gift Aid donors, either direct via the bank or by the weekly envelopes. To enable the Parish claim to be acceptable you should have been paying income or capital gains tax in the tax year 2007/2008. Unless we are informed to the contrary we will be claiming tax on your behalf. Please advise Fr David if you have ceased paying tax.
