Fr David - the eldest of two sons, was born and raised in Cambridge. Following his schooling at St Alban’s Primary and St Bede’s Secondary; his studies for the priesthood began at Campion House, Osterley from1968 to 1970 and were completed at St Mary’s Seminary, New Oscott, Sutton Coldfield.

His first appointment was as an assistant priest at the Church of St Peter and All Souls, Peterborough, where he remained until 1980.

The next four years saw him serving as an assistant priest at St John’s Cathedral, Norwich, when he was then appointed Parish Priest to St Mary’s, Woodbridge Road, Ipswich. In 1993 Fr David was asked to return to Peterborough to be Parish Priest of St Peter and All Souls. This was a very busy and challenging time, as the parish was preparing to celebrate its centenary and Peterborough was continuing to grow and develop as a city of the 21st Century.

After ten years in Peterborough and twenty seven years as a priest of the diocese Fr David was given the opportunity of a Sabbatical which took him to the USA to visit parishes preparing for fewer priests to serve their needs - a situation we were preparing for in East Anglia; and a three month Pastoral Ministry Course at Marianella, Dublin. His appointment to the recently enlarged parish of the Sacred Heart North Walsham was taken up on 1st October 2004.

Fr David’s diocesan responsibilities include being Dean to the North Norfolk Deanery; serving on the Diocesan Council of Priests and the Diocesan College of Consultors; the Diocesan Personnel Board and being a Team member for the ongoing formation of the clergy. He was appointed Director of Vocations for the Diocese in January 2006
