Dear Friends, Before baptising his cousin John the Baptist was unaware that Jesus was the Messiah. When he saw the Spirit come down and rest on him he recognises that Jesus was to be the Lamb of future atonements, chosen by God to baptise in the Spirit. Dear Friends, Today, the Feast of the Epiphany, we add the Magi to the Christmas crib. All three readings take us out of the cosy and local to a truly universal dimension.
