Amazing Donations Lead to Huge Stocks
22nd December 2020
This Christmas season has been unprecedented in many ways. We have seen an increased demand for food parcels, many from people accessing the Foodbank for the first time and we have managed to signpost them on for further help with the issues affecting them. However, during this time, we have received an incredible amount of donations, both in Christmas items and in regular food items. This has resulted in us holding a stock level that is way above the normal level and we have experienced difficulties with storage.
Consequently, we have taken the decision to ask you to take a ‘donation holiday’ for the month of January. During this time, we will do a stocktake and ensure that any shorter date items are used first.
Many thanks for your support through 2020 and we look forward to resuming normal donations from February.
See here for information regarding Norwich Foodbank. For the moment, donations cannot be dropped off at St Helen’s. Instead, you can forward a cheque made payable to ‘Norwich Food Bank’ and send it to:
Norwich Food Bank Unit 14, Henderson Business Centre, 51 Ivy Road, Norwich NR58BF marked for the attention of Hannah stating that it is a donation in lieu of a formal collection at St Helen’s.
