Newsletter 16.02.20.

Dear Friends,

St Paul writes of the ‘hidden wisdom of God. This is a wisdom that is far greater than any human wisdom. It is revealed in the scriptures but above all in the person and the words of Jesus. In today’s Gospel he speaks about what lies behind our actions whether they are good or evil. He also speaks with authority: ‘you have heard it said….but I say to you’.

God bless,

 Father James

The next session of Journey in Faith is today, Sunday, 16nd February, at 5pm in the presbytery.

At the Sacred Heart – help is urgently needed
As was said last week – Your church needs YOU!  We have had a good initial response but we do still need more volunteers. Please take a look at the list of jobs where help is urgently needed to keep our church running. Do please put your name down for the Sacred Heart’s Taskforce. A box for completed forms is in the church porch. Please give whatever time you can to help your church. Thank you.

Churches Together (North Walsham) – dates for your diaries!

Next Prayer Meeting: Monday 24th February at 2pm in the Methodist Church, North Walsham.

World Day of Prayer: Friday 6th March at 2pm, North Walsham Salvation Army Hall.

Lenten Lunches – please see poster for dates, venues and speakers.

The Sacred Heart will be hosting the 12.30pm lunch on Thursday 2nd April.

“My Day by Day” booklet is a Lenten Journey of readings and prayer in preparation for Easter. It is available in church porches at just £1.

Readers’ Rotas (NW) are ready for collection; please pick up your named copy.

Minutes of the PPC Meeting held Tuesday 14th January are now available on the Parish website. There are also a few hard copies available in church porches.

Katie Maidment and David Pattrick, (both Aylsham parishioners), will have completed their second week of the annual Trustee Visit on behalf of Support Cambodia. During this 3-week trip they will be visiting our twin parish of St Francis Xavier, Svay Sisophon, and presenti on behalf of our parish some beautifully illustrated books on bible stories. Keep them in your prayers and follow their progress at supportcambodia.org.uk or join the charity’s WhatsApp group.

Cromer & District foodbank have sent their usual letter of thanks together with a list of ‘most needed’ items. Please see notice boards at both Aylsham and North Walsham.
