NEWSLETTER 02.04.23

31/03/2023 by John

Dear Parishioners,

Whenever anything disagreeable or displeasing happens to you, remember Christ crucified and be silent.

We celebrate this sixth Sunday of Lent as both Palm Sunday and Passion Sunday.  This is the place in the Liturgical year when the Church stops us so that we can remember and relive the events which brought about our redemption and salvation.  What we commemorate and relive during this week is not just Jesus’ dying and rising, but our own dying to sin and selfishness and rising in Jesus, which will result in our healing, reconciliation, and redemption.

My dear parishioners our attentive participation in the Holy Week liturgy will deepen our relationship with God, increase our Faith, and strengthen our lives as disciples of Jesus.

Let us with whole heart partake this week in The Holy Thursday and Good Friday and Easter, where we commemorate and relive the most important moments of the life of Jesus, His rigged trial, passion, death and crucifixion culminating in His Resurrection. Wishing you a spiritually enriching Holy Week.

Fr Peter

The Chrism Mass is on Tuesday 4th April at 11.30am at St John’s Cathedral, Norwich.

The 11.00 am Mass at North Walsham on Easter Sunday will be a Family Mass followed by an Easter Egg hunt.

The Collection on Easter Sunday (including the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening) is our personal gift to Fr Peter. Please keep all general contributions for the parish until the following week.

On Good Friday there will be a collection for the Holy Land Shrines.

Church flower arrangers are extremely grateful for any contributions towards their floral displays for Easter. Please continue to donate if possible.  Thank you.

The Parish Pastoral Council.  Minutes of the meeting held on 28th February can now be seen on the parish website; also available as hard copies in our church porches.

A date for people’s diaries – the annual Parish Meeting will be held on the evening of Sunday 4th June in the parish hall.
