“At all times but especially now, it is pertinent to say, ‘Vanity of vanities, all is vanity’.”
The 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C reminds us to stop and think about what really matters. It is easy to focus on money, success and things we own. But these do not last. The readings point us to something greater.
Today, Jesus places us facing what is fundamental in our Christian life, in our relationship with God: to get rich before Him. That is, to fill our own hands and heart with all kinds of supernatural and spiritual goods of grace, and not of material possessions.

Our Annual Mass in the Garden of Remembrance at North Walsham will take place on Tuesday 26th August at 6.00pm. Everyone is welcome but especially those who have their loved one’s ashes buried there. If it is wet, Mass will be held in the church. Please pass on the details of this important Summer event to all you know would wish to be present.
Thanking you again for your co-operation to the request made to those who go to the parish hall after Sunday Mass for tea or coffee. To those who are able, please continue to fold your table and stack your chair when you leave the hall each Sunday after Mass – it is of immeasurable help and greatly appreciated by those on ‘refreshment’ duty.
