“If Christ is not risen, nothing else matters. And if Christ is risen, nothing else matters.”
The 3rd Sunday of Easter, Year C readings, remind us of the joy and responsibility that come with following Jesus. On this third Sunday of Easter, we proclaim that the risen Christ is the Lord. Today, through the celebration of the Eucharist, we affirm that He is the sacrificed Lamb. Hence, He is worthy to be given all power, honour and glory. Both the first and the second readings of today bear great testimonies to the awesomeness of Christ. Today’s Gospel narrative shows us the rehabilitation of Peter, who denied Jesus three times. Jesus asked Peter three times if he loved Him. This highlights the importance of affirming our love for Jesus and the call to show it through our actions.
