Dear Friends,

Today’s Gospel shows the apostles feeling lost and bereft. They go back to what is familiar – Galilee and their fishing nets. Then Jesus is seen on the shore inviting them to have breakfast! He also provides an amazing catch of fish. This is a powerful symbol, and one that they would have appreciated, of their future apostolate which would be made fruitful by the Risen Christ. In this Peter, who is re-instated by Jesus, would take on the primary responsibility.

God bless

Father James
