A WARM WELCOME TO ANY VISITORS who may be with us this weekend, staying with family and friends or just here on holiday: we hope you have an enjoyable time in beautiful North Norfolk. You are welcome to stay for coffee after our weekend Masses and meet some of our parishioners.
MASS TIMES On Thursdays at 9.30am in North Walsham there will now always be Liturgy of the Word & Holy Communion followed by Exposition until 10.15am.
HARVEST THANKSGIVING is celebrated in our Masses this weekend. At all Masses parishioners are invited to bring up items in the Offertory Proxcession. NO plastic bags please, so that we adorn the church with God’s bounty – and not that of local supermarkets!! Perishable items will be sold after Mass for CAFOD; store cupboard items will go to the Food Bank.
CAFOD – Harvest Fast Day: the CAFOD envelopes distributed last week will be collected at the end of Mass today.
TODAY AT THE SACRED HEART there will be a reception in the Parish Hall to welcome Father James to the parish, as our parish priest. This will be after the 11.00am Mass (and after the sale of Harvest contributions for CAFOD in the piazza). Drinks will be provided. Please bring finger food to share – everyone is welcome.
THE ROSARY is said before Mass each Sunday in October; at 10.30 am at the Sacred Heart; at 8.30am at St John’s and prior to Mass at St Helen’s at 5.00pm each Saturday. Volunteers needed please to lead the Rosary at the Sacred Heart: if you could sign the sheet at the back of the church. There are also leaflets on how to pray the Rosary, available for purchase.

Nominations are requested for 2 PPC representatives, one for St Helen’s and one for St John’s. Nomination forms are at the back of each church. Please would you ensure that completed nomination forms are handed to Fr James by the end of October in order that a ballot can be held before the next PPC meeting in November.
Beekeepers in the parish! Does anyone have a honey extractor to lend to Fr James?
FORUM There will be a Forum at St Helen’s on Saturday 18th October after the 5.30pm Mass.
THE INDUCTION OF FR DAVID by Bishop Alan Hopes takes place on Friday 31st October at 7.30pm at the Church of St Henry Morse, Diss. We are running a coach for parishioners who would like to attend: regrettably only a limited number will be able to go as the church at Diss is rather small. There will be a reception after the Mass. Details of pick-up times and cost will follow shortly: lists for names are in church porches.
FIRST COMMUNION PROGRAMME 2014/15 If your child is in Year 3 or above and you wish him/her to be enrolled in the Parish Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, please complete a registration form for enrolment, to be found at the back of the church asap.
“TREE OF DREAMS & VISIONS” At its recent meeting, the Parish Pastoral Council had a preliminary reading of all the leaves parishioners had put on the “Tree of dreams & Visions”. The Council will be studying them more closely at the next meeting, to see how they can be put into practice, so as to enrich our parish life.
