| Our Lady of Peñafrancia: Our joint celebration of Our Lady of Peńafrancia and the jubilee celebrations take place with Bishop Peter on September the 20th at 1pm. We have been joyfully invited by the Norwich Filipino Community to celebrate this beautiful feast together and to celebrate our Jubilee Mass with Bishop Peter. Let us all come together as one community and make this a celebration to remember. We hope to make a display of three boards in the Narthex of St Helen’s for this event with pictures of our three churches depicting our life over the last 50 years (or beyond). If you do have pictures that we can use, then please bring them to Mass so we can use them on the displays. The Programme for September 20th looks like this: 12:30 – gather at Broad Tours, Wroxham (just over the bridge after Roys) 13:00 – procession from Broad Tours to St Helen’s 14:00 – Mass with Bishop Peter 15:30 – Feast and celebration kindly provided by the Filipinos DIOCESAN NOTIFICATION from Bishop Peter Adoremus National Eucharistic Congress, Saturday 10th October The diocese is delighted that fifty places are available for participation in the National Eucharistic Congress in London on the 10th of October this year. The day begins at midday with Mass in St George’s Cathedral, Southwark, followed by a keynote address by Cardinal Timothy Radcliffe. After a picnic lunch, the day will culminate with a historic Eucharistic Procession, through the streets of London, from Southwark to Westminster Cathedral where devotions will continue into the evening. Those who would like to register interest in participating in this momentous celebration of our faith are asked simply to email the Diocesan Adoremus Representative, peter.wygnanski@rcdea.org.uk to receive further information. (Those taking part will need to arrange their own transport to and from the event.) | |
| The Annual General Meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council will be held on Thursday 10th September at 7.00 pm in Sacred Heart Parish Hall. A light buffet meal will be served before the meeting, and all are welcome. Please sign the list at the back of your church if you will be attending. Photos or items for the Parish Jubilee Exhibition at St Helen’s on September 20th should be delivered to St Helen’s (or “Faun’s Holt” opposite the church if closed) not later than Wednesday September 16th – this will give us time to put the display together. Photographs may be scanned and sent as jpg files to machaonic@gmail.com. | Fund Raising for the Sound System: Our current total has almost reached the goal! This is very exciting and an example our commitment to joining in projects to benefit the church community. The Music Liturgy Group ( Aylsham) return on 13th September after their summer break and would love to welcome a few new members. No previous experience needed.
