Harvest Thanksgiving will be celebrated in our Masses this weekend. At all Masses parishioners are invited to bring items up in the Offertory Procession. Perishable items will be sold after Mass for CAFOD – store cupboard items will go to the Food Bank at Norwich and Cromer.
The Rosary is said during October: at Hoveton before Saturday Mass at 5pm; Aylsham – Sundays at 8.30am and NW at 10.30am. Volunteers needed to lead at the Sacred Heart – some new people would be great. Please sign the rota in the porch.
Collectors Please note that for the next four weeks we need to take a Mass Count and record the numbers on the sheet at the back of the church. Thanks.
FAIRTRADE Owing to the sale of Harvest items after Mass this weekend, stalls for Fairtrade will be set up accordingly: North Walsham next Sunday 13th; for Aylsham Sunday 20th and for Hoveton this Saturday 5th.
SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP meets Monday 7th October: am – informal. Introductory meeting with Mandy Smith for those interested in joining the Computer Workshop at about 11.30 am. At 2.00 pm a representative from the East Anglian Air Ambulance will give a presentation on their current services. All are welcome.

BIBLE STUDY GROUP meets in the parish hall at 2.30pm on Friday 11th October continuing their study of the book of Job. All are welcome.
PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS Nominations are requested for 4 new PPC members; 2 for The Sacred Heart, 1 for St Helen’s and 1 for St John of the Cross. Nomination forms are at the back of each church. Please ensure that the completed forms are handed to Fr. David by October 27th to allow time for a ballot, if necessary, before the next PPC Meeting in November.

CAMBODIAN-STYLE MASS to celebrate the Khmer Festival of the Ancestors’ (Pchum Ben) on Friday 18th October at 7pm in the Parish Hall. Please read the separate insert for details. For the Church in Cambodia, this is ‘All Souls Day’ and so through our Mass we will join in spirit with our friends in Svay Sisophon as they pray for their departed loved ones.
HOVETON Reflection on readings for Mass. This is a new group which will focus on the Readings & Psalms used at the Vigil/Sunday Mass, week by week, offering a chance to explore what these mean to us personally and their application to life and the wider world. Starting 6th November at St Helen’s at 10.30 am, every week after 9.30am Wednesday Mass – it is likely to be for up to an hour – open to all. INVOCATION – “FACE 2 FACE” A special event for young adults aged 16 – 30, discerning their vocation or who are just looking to deepen their faith. SHOEBOX APPEAL – leaflets with the necessary forms and details for packing up shoeboxes are available at the back of the church (North Walsham & Hoveton). Deadline for collection is Sunday 17th November. Aylsham have their own system in response to this appeal.

Michael and Elaine Haughton would like to thank Fr David and parishioners from our three communities for the prayers and support during Michael’s recent illness. “The power of prayer has no limits.”
