2nd Sunday of Advent 2020.
6th –12th December.
Today’s reading from the prophet Isaiah is a promise of rescue and restoration to a people in exile. That promise will be fulfilled with the arrival of a time of salvation for all people in the person of the Messiah. What is promised in Isaiah is made present in Jesus. Today we hear the beginning of Mark’s Gospel. As we travel through Advent with its apocalyptic scenes and promises of salvation we do so as those who already know and acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God and bringer of Good News.
Now that we have resumed public Masses in our churches if you wish to attend a Sunday Mass you need to book a place with the co-ordinator for each church:

Christmas Timetable:
Christmas Eve.
12 noon at Sacred Heart: Vigil Mass of Christmas.
6 pm at Sacred Heart: Christmas Family Mass. 9 pm at St John of the Cross: Midnight Mass.
Christmas Day.
9 am at St Helen’s: Dawn Mass. 11 am at Sacred Heart: Mass of the Day.
