During these Sundays in Eastertide we hear how the news of the Risen Lord spread among his disciples. Today it is the apostle Thomas who is confronted with what he hardly dares to hope – that the Master is alive, no longer bound by the constraints of death. When he finally comes face to face with Jesus and sees for himself the marks of his Passion all his fears and hesitations fall away and he can only make his own act of recognition and faith. We too, each in our own way, must make our own act of faith in the Risen Lord.

Next Weekend, 13/14 April, there will be a 2nd Collection for the Holy Land Shrines.
Monday 6 May is the annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham. More details to follow. There will be lists at the back of the churches for those who would like to travel on the coach.

On Saturday, 11 May, we will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Fr Peter’s Ordination to the Priesthood and a big day is planned. There will be Mass at midday, followed by a party in the hall and the garden. We will be collecting for a gift and lists will be at the back of the churches for those who wish to attend the celebrations and provide food.
The next meeting of the Parish Social Committee will be held on Monday 8 April at 7.30pm, at the home of Geraldine and Arthur
Williams. Top of the agenda will be arrangements for Fr Peter’s celebration.
Teas and coffees after Sunday Mass will re-commence next Sunday, 14 April, at the Sacred Heart. Anyone who would like to join the rota of those serving refreshments, please speak to Fr Peter, Maureen Ollivier or Cathy Watkins.

The funeral service for Doreen Crouch will take place on Tuesday 23 April at 11.00 at St Helen’s Church, Hoveton. Doreen was organist at the Sacred Heart Church for many years.
Ivy Weston’s funeral service will be held on Thursday 25 April at 11.00 at the Sacred Heart Church, North Walsham.
