“Be filled with the Holy Spirit and you’ll never run out of gas!”
Pentecost Year C is a time to reflect on the Holy Spirit and its impact on the early Church and our lives today. The readings focus on the presence and work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers.
On the day of Pentecost: 1) The Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary as tongues of fire. 2) The frightened apostles were transformed into fiery preachers and evangelizers. 3) The listeners experienced a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit through the apostles’ gift of tongues. 4) The early Christians became powerful witnesses and brave martyrs for their Faith in Jesus. May the Holy Spirit fill our hearts with the power of His love.
Fr. Peter

The National Churches Trust (NCT) has launched a survey to better understand the challenges churches face and highlight the vital work our churches do. Our Diocesan Heritage Officer, Matthew J. Champion MA.FSA FRHistS (& from the Bishop’s Conference) urges all our parishes to take part. The response provided will be essential evidence in building a clearer picture, tell a more informed story in order to address some of the biggest challenges facing (all) churches and help ensure their future. The more churches that take part, the more the impact. The survey, open to all churches, of all denominations, is live from 6/5/25 – 30/6/25. To take part, or have more information, please go to nationalchurchestrust.org/survey Or ring Josephine Warren (Historic Churches Adviser) on +44(0)20 7901 4880.
