Dear Friends
The rejection of Jesus by his neighbours is based on his origins: ‘we know his father and mother’. John presents Jesus’ origins at the beginning of his gospel: ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God’. The complaints of the crowd echo the complaints of the Hebrews in the Exodus against Moses and Aaron who were chosen by God to lead Israel to the Promised Land. John sees Jesus as the one who is chosen and sent by God to lead humanity to eternal life –the definitive Promised Land.
Our congratulations go to Sophia Endall who made her First Holy Communion last Sunday at Aylsham and to Tom Barret and Kerry Thorpe who were married at North Walsham on Saturday.
