Dear Friends,

Today we celebrate the great mystery that is God himself. The doctrine of the Trinity is a way of saying that God is best defined as Love itself and relationship is at the heart of God’s being.

We have made a successful application to the Alive in Faith campaign for a grant to each of our three communities. As funds continue to build up we will be able to make further applications next year.

Father James

The Mass today at the Sacred Heart is a Family Mass with the children taking major roles in the liturgy.

Next Sunday, The Most Holy Body & blood of Christ (Corpus Christi) is Day for Life: there will be a retiring collection for the work of the “Life Charities”.

Also that Sunday there will be Benediction at 3.00pm at the Sacred Heart Church. This will be a ‘combined’ celebration of the two feast days, Corpus Christi and The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. Do come along and help make it a splendid occasion.

The Senior Citizens’ Group (NW) meets Monday 12th with the usual activities taking place in the morning, Computer Workshop, chair exercises etc. General activities in the afternoon.

Reports from the Annual Parish Meeting (Mon 22nd May) are now on church notice boards and on the Parish Website.

Fr James’ Anniversary Luncheon. The organisers for the meal would be very grateful if parishioners who wish to attend would sign the lists, now in church porches. Just a reminder: it takes place on Saturday 22nd July at about 1.00pm, following a Thanksgiving Mass at 12noon.

A Mass of Thanksgiving will be held in St John the Baptist Cathedral at 7.00pm on Friday 16th June; in thanksgiving for the generous response of people in the Diocese to the Alive in Faith fundraising. The final results of this will be known by the end of this month. The Mass is followed by a reception in the Narthex.

A big ’thank you’ to the parishioners in North Walsham who responded to our request for people to offer an hour of their time to help clean the church. We now have a sufficient number to form a rota.

Young adults’ Pilgrimage to Santiago – ”Walking the Camino” The Diocesan Youth Service is organising a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in the last week of July. For those aged 18 – 35 years. For further information go to www.rcdea.org.uk/youth

Diocesan Summer Camp 2017 for ages 8 – 14 years from Friday 25th – Monday 28th August at New Eccles Hall School, Norfolk. See posters in our church porches for details.

We pray We remember too the victims of further tragic events in London last week. We also pray for those whose anniversaries occur this week including: Charles Bryson, John Stevenson, Grace Rock, Robert Franklen, Ewhen Repeckyj, Peter Kelly, Catherine Bateman and William (Jack) Price.

May they rest in peace.
