FROM THE PARISH PRIEST The Sacraments of the Church: First Holy Communion: If you have a child who is eligible for FHC classes and you would like to enrol them for classes then please let me know (via email: alan.hodgson@rcdea.org.uk) as soon as possible. I will need to pass your details to our catechists so that they can make contact with you, so please indicate in your email that I have your permission to do so. Confirmation: The same as above – please let me know so I can inform the catechists. Catholicism Today: I will be starting the RCIA programme for adult instruction on Friday the 16th of October. These classes are for anyone who wishes to become a catholic or for people who are already catholic but wish to find out more about their faith or would like a refresher on matters of faith. I anticipate having our first meeting at 6pm at the presbytery and then, depending on numbers, find a time and venue that suits the majority of people who wish to attend to minimise the number of journeys on the cold winter’s nights. I would hope to only host ONE series of classes in the parish. These classes are quite informal with plenty of time for discussion and questions throughout – but they are structured and run along a curriculum so that our time is fruitful and worthwhile. Please register your interest by sending me an email over the next few weeks. There is no charge for the course, however, I will encourage attendees to purchase one or two books that will help them in terms of reference and teaching. | |
