A WARM WELCOME TO ANY VISITORS with us this weekend. You are welcome to stay for coffee after Mass and meet some of our parishioners.
TODAY we are celebrating the joy of Christ’s Ascension, (moved from the Thursday to Sunday).  It is also World Comunication Day and there will be a Second Collection for the Catholic Communication Service.  Do pick up a World Communications Day information/prayer card from the back of the church.
Congratulations to our young people recently confirmed : Pippa Beard, Henry Blazey, Kamil Goldyn, Rafal Lizynski, Charles William Randall, Kerry Thorpe, Abigail Wills, Benedict Wills and Greg Wills. 
The Rosary (North Walsham).  The Rosary will be said at 10.30am prior to  Mass during the Sundays of May.  Those who would like to lead the Rosary  please sign the list in the porch.  There are similar arrangements for Aylsham (8.30am) & Hoveton. Leaflets on how to pray the Rosary are available – 30p each; proceeds to Cambodia.

SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP   meets May 13th.: am Informal; at 1.30pm Deacon Ron is giving a talk on “The history of the Liturgy”.

LITURGY COMMITTEE (NW) – meets Friday 17th May in the Presbytery at 5pm.

PARISH ANNUAL MEETING  to be held Monday 20th May in the parish hall at North Walsham.  Meeting commences at 7pm with the usual delicious supper, provided by St Helen’s parishioners, the dessert by Sacred Heart parishioners.  Guest speaker is Dr Dilys Wadman, Acting Diocesan Communications Officer.  Please sign the list TODAY (final chance) to let us know the numbers.  All are welcome.

SUPPORT CAMBODIA PLANT SALE – to be held on Saturday 18th May from 10.30am onwards.  Please read enclosed inserts for information.

RAFFLE TICKETS to be drawn at the Parish Fete on Sunday 23rd June are available from this weekend in our churches: proceeds are to be split three ways- Cruise Bereavement, Cromer Foodbank and Support Cambodia.

STALHAM AREA  HOUSE MASS on Friday 17th May is at the home of  John and Hilary Bolger; 3 St John’s Road, Stalham, NR12 9BG at 7.30pm. All welcome.

CHRISTIAN AID  is this week, 12th – 18th May. Thanks to all those who have offered to help with various activities and events. (See opposite page for N Walsham).

CHURCHES TOGETHER  (NW) is holding a Pentecost Fiesta to celebrate the birthday of the Church: This promises to be a fun event with stalls for children and adults alike, held in the grounds of St Nicholas Church, Sat 18th May; 10am –1pm.

ECUMENICAL CIVIC SERVICE for North Norfolk District Council at St Nicholas Church, North Walsham on Wednesday 15th May at 7.00pm.  All welcome.

CHILDREN’S PILGRIMAGE to Walsingham is on Tuesday 28th May (during half-term).  Procession from the village starts at 10.45am: Mass at 12noon in the Chapel of Reconciliation followed by a picnic in the meadows.  Hopefully the day ends on the beach at nearby Wells-Next-the-Sea.  Children provide the music for Mass, serve and read.  Any musicians or servers from the parish should speak with Fr David. There’s no coach as many prefer to travel by car.

PARISH SUPPORT GROUP  Don’t forget the Parish Support Group: we now have an email address – pssacredheart@outlook.com  in addition to our telephone no. 07501 265779.

CHRISTIAN AID  – North Walsham.  Collection day will be Thursday 16th May from 9am until 1pm around the Market Place/Post Office area, in hourly slots though anybody willing to do longer is most welcome.  If willing to collect ring the Presbytery (possibly leave a message) or put a note through the door.

RETREAT AT AMPLEFORTH ABBEY  Fr Michael Johnstone has been taking groups to Ampleforth for many years for a Retreat conducted by a monk.  This year the dates are 24-28 June: the cost £250.  If interested please ring Fr Michael for more details on 01328 823586 or e-mail fr.mcjohnstone@tesco.net

LOOKING AHEAD:  Diocesan Celebration of Marriage & Family Life: is on Saturday 22nd June at 11am at St John’s Cathedral, Norwich.  Please see poster. Those celebrating special Anniversaries this year are welcome to come and renew their Marriage vows but it is important to register that you are attending.
World Youth Day ‘At Home’ – 26th-29th July: national event for young people aged 16+.  For information go to www.catholiceastanglia.org/youth
AUGUST DIOCESAN CAMPS at Eccles Hall, Norfolk: Junior Camp 8-14yrs
From Friday 23rd August till Monday 26th.  Please see poster for details and contact Fr David for an application form.
TAIZÉ  Young People’s Pilgrimage to Taizé – An invitation to anyone aged 17-29.  Why not come and join the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Taizé this August? More information at the back of the church or go to www.catholiceastanglia.org/youth  Deadline for booking 14th June.

 We welcome into God’s family through the waters of Baptism: Sofia Olivia Endall.

We pray for John Henry Russell who died last Sunday and remember his family and friends at this time.  We pray for all those whose anniversaries occur at this time, including: Olive Edna Carr, Winifred (Joan) Madden, Joan Kathleen Harmer, Margaret Christine Douglas, Elizabeth Uden, Terence Michael Gigli and John McGuinn. May they rest in peace.  Amen.
