Stella Maris: Today is Sea Sunday, when we remember those who spend their lives working at sea. Seafarers and fishers play a vital role in all our lives, but they often work in difficult and dangerous conditions. Conflicts around the world are increasing risks to their safety, especially for crews travelling through regions such as the Strait of Hormuz. Seafarers often must work away from their families and local communities for nine to twelve months at a time. Across the world, Stella Maris aim to provide ‘a friend in every port’ and stands alongside seafarers and fishers to ensure their rights are upheld. Their network of chaplains and volunteers makes more than 70,000 ship visits each year and supports hundreds of thousands of seafarers and fishermen in times of need. Our second collection today will go to Stella Maris. Gift aid envelopes are available. SumUp machine in use.
SumUp: In today’s world, we do not always carry cash and so it can be difficult to donate and contribute (or even purchase goods) if we do not have cash and there is no facility to make a payment. To that end, we have invested in a SumUp machine for each church building so that, should you have no cash, you will be able to make a card payment at the end of Mass. This will be available every weekend- simply visit the back of the church and someone will be there with the machine and ready to assist you. You can make a payment in any denomination you wish. The machines will also be available for 2nd collections when we have them. Thank you for your generosity.
Large Print newsletter: Today we are trialling an A3 version of the newsletter which we hope may make a difference for those who have told us they find reading the smaller version difficult. We are providing a few copies for each church. If you have missed it today there may be some still at the back of the church on your way out. We hope this will make a difference.
Father Alan has been away this week
| Reading at Mass at North Walsham: We are always glad to welcome new readers on to the rota. If you have an interest in joining the regular participants, please mention it to us. We will support you as you begin this Sacred ministry. Local Election: The hall will be used as a polling station for the election of the Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner on Thursday 16th July. If you are attending Mass that day, please be aware that the car park may be busy. | Beetle Drive: The next Parish Beetle Drive will be on Friday 24th July at 6.30pm. £5 entry. We welcome items as contributions to the raffle. Do come and join the fun! We are sorry to share news of the death, earlier this week, of Chris White, who had been a tireless and enthusiastic member of the church community, until her illness took her away from the many activities in which she took part, not least as a cantor for the choir at Sacred Heart. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband, Ben and her family at this sad time. |
| We pray for our sick parishioners: Matt Butler, Frances Palman, Mary Bell, Celia Cooper, Margaret Larkins, Maria Halsey, Joan Macnamara, Richard Skelton, Teresa Fitzmaurice, Bernadette Saunders, Doreen Rockey & daughter Sandra, Pam Thornton, Mary Long, Malcolm Akers, Frances Mack, Amy Heywood & Peter, Cathie Dickson, Carolyn Rayner and her mother Mary Rayner and Alan Ganney, Roma Brooder. | We pray for those whose anniversaries occur this week: Gloria Moolchan, Angela Brooke, Edward Uden, Mario Periera, Rhoda Egan. May they rest in peace |
