Dear Friends,

Today is Remembrance Sunday. We pray for all those who have given their lives in the great conflicts of the last century as well as those in more recent times. I shall be representing our parish at the Remembrance Service at St Nicholas in North Walsham at 3 pm.

I am hoping to begin the First Holy Communion preparation before the end of the year. Please let me know of any children of First Communion age.

Journey in Faith continues next Sunday at 5 pm in the parish hall.

Father James

The Senior Citizens Group (NW) meets on Monday 13th November: the group will hold a Memorial Service in which they have a roll-call of past members: a candle is lit for each one. There are now 30 deceased members. This all takes place within a Service of the Word & Holy Communion. Parishioners recently bereaved are welcome to join us. Further information from Teresa Butler, Becky Walker and Deacon Ron.

Monthly Diary. To keep the whole parish informed of events in our three communities Elaine Haughton (emhaughton@sky.com) has offered to be the contact person. Please let her know by the middle of each month of events in your community.

Readers, at North Walsham, please pick up your new rotas.

Aid to the Church in Need is organising a week of prayer this month for persecuted Christians. The highlight of the week will be Red Wednesday, 22nd November with Mass at 7 pm at the Cathedral. At St Helen’s at 9.30 am there will be a Liturgy of the Word with Holy Communion and Rosary with Prayers for persecuted Christians. All are welcome & encouraged to wear red. Samaritan’s Purse Boxes should be completed and left at either North Walsham or Hoveton church porches by this weekend or delivered to the various collection centres. The ‘Reverse Advent Calendar’. As suggested by the Live Simply Group, we will again take part this year for Norwich and Cromer District Food Banks. Flyers in each church have suggestions of items the Food Banks really need in the boxes over the next 25 days. You can either fill your own bag or box at home or bring items to church to be put in the Food Bank collecting boxes. The filled boxes need to be returned to your church by weekend of 3rd December at the latest. . We pray for our sick parishioners especially Margaret Wynes, Linda Dawson. We remember Andy Greiff who died recently and for those whose anniversaries occur this week including: Roger Kerrison, Charles (Tod) Holdstock, Teresa Chapman and Teresa McKillop. May they rest in peace.
