6th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
In today’s Gospel reading we hear the story of a man whose leprosy cut him off from contact with his community. Jesus has compassion on him and by healing him restores him to his family and friends. But because Jesus touched the sick man he himself was cut off from the community and ‘had to stay outside in places where nobody lived’.
Next Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. We will celebrate the usual Ash Wednesday Masses with the blessing and (this year) sprinkling of ashes. 9.30 am at Hoveton, 11 am at N.Walsham and 6 pm at Aylsham. The Lenten Fast Day is on Friday, 26th February.
If a friend or relative is a patient in the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital they can still ask for a Catholic priest to visit them. This is best done on the ward or through the hospital chaplaincy (01603 287470).
With Lent approaching the booklet ‘Day by Day’ is now available for £1.
For our 13 to 19 year olds Glow is a diocesan online event on Saturday, 27th February from 2-4.30 pm. Register now at www.rcdea.org.uk/youth
