| FROM THE PARISH PRIEST Christian Art: This week, I want to introduce a wonderful resource to the parish for you to use on a daily basis, should you wish to do so. Fr Patrick van der Vorst is a priest at Westminster Cathedral, before he became a Catholic priest he was an auctioneer for Sotheby’s Fine Art and, eventually, started his own valuation business. He then became a priest and has an extensive knowledge of the art world. A few years ago, he started a website and app called Christian Art. Every day, he pasts a very short article featuring a work of art (painting, sculpture, ceramics and precious metal) and relates this piece of art to the Gospel of the day. The format is, a picture of the piece of art, the Gospel of the day in full, and then an explanation of the piece of art and how he related it to the Gospel. The website is https://christian.art/ or you can download the app from Google Store or Apple. It is totally free and you can subscribe, should you wish to do so, and receive it as a daily email. I do hope that you will find this an interesting method of learning about Scripture and art. | |
| Father Alan’s Induction Mass : This will take place at Sacred Heart on Thursday 2nd July at 6.00 pm. Bishop Peter will preside over this ceremony, and we look forward to welcoming as many parishioners as possible to this joyful occasion. Tea, coffee and other refreshments will be served in the hall afterwards. Please sign the list at the back on the church, if you are hoping to be there. Choral Concert : A group of very talented singers, Coda Conduct, will perform at St John of the Cross on Friday 19th June at 7.00 pm. Tickets are £10.00 on the door. You may remember the beautiful performance by one of their number, Pip, and Fr Peter’s leaving party. | Forthcoming Funeral : The Requiem Mass for Kathy Rudman will be at Sacred Heart on Monday 22nd June at 2.00pm. PPC AGM Change of Date: The hall will now be used as a polling station on July 16th, following the resignation of the Norfolk Police and Crime Commissioner. The AGM planned for this date will therefore be re-arranged, and more information about this will follow shortly.
