We warmly welcome Father James Walsh to our parish as our new Parish Priest; we trust and hope he will soon feel at home and enjoy and find interesting the warmth and diversity of our three communities.
TODAY is Racial Justice Sunday when the Church invites the faithful to pray earnestly for an end to racism and racial inequality, also for the work being done to combat human trafficking, modern-day forms of slavery and every aspect of support for the vulnerable and marginalised. MASS TIMES for the coming week will revert to our former familiar pattern. Please check with the newsletter (and online) when and where Masses/Eucharistic services will be held. One difference will be, that on Thursdays (NW) at 9.30am there will be Liturgy of the Word & Holy Communion followed by Exposition until 10.15am.
SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP will meet as on Mondayas usual. Marianne has asked Teresa Butler to be there at 12.30pm to help them decide how they would like the group to proceed, for the foreseeable future during Marianne’s period of illness.

ST HELEN’S 4TH WEDNESDAY CLUB for senior citizens meets again on 24th September. Coffee is at 11.30am, lunch at 12.30pm. We will have our own homespun entertainment, celebrating “Harvest Home” in song and verse! Please bring along a poem or reading to share with us if you so wish. We will finish at 4.00pm with tea and cake. All over 60s welcome. Cost of £2.00 including the raffle.
AT ST JOHN OF THE CROSS – HARVEST SUPPER Held at 7.00pm on Saturday 4th October. You will be served a ploughmans or quiche and dessert. Please bring your own drinks; tea/coffee provided. £7: proceeds go to the Roof Fund.

SUPPORT CAMBODIA MUSIC EVENING: held on Friday 10th October at 8pm at the Black Swan Rooms, North Walsham. Local young singer/songwriters Claire Lawrence & Grant Ley in concert. Proceeds go to Pongro Village Day Care Centre, being helped by Support Cambodia in 2015. THE ‘SWISHING PARTY’ raised £175 for the roof fund at St John of the Cross. Many thanks to all who donated and came along, also a special thank you to the House of Hobbies for hosting the event.
Marianne MacQueen would like to thank everyone in the parish for their prayers and kind messages of concern since she has been unwell. She is now home from hospital, pending further treatment. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
We pray for Caterina Waterfield who died, aged 91 years a fortnight ago: we remember in prayer her family and friends. We pray also for all those whose anniversaries occur at this time, including: Mary Ellen Mousley and Margaret Griffith.
