20th Week in Ordinary Time 2020
16th – 22th August
Today we celebrate the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady. The Gospel reading shows her willingness to be a vital link in the unfolding of God’s rescue package for mankind. At the end of her life she shared her son’s victory over death – as, one day, we shall also.
Last Tuesday we learnt the sad news of the death of Deacon Ron O’Toole. Bishop Alan will preside at a Requiem Mass at the Sacred Heart church on Thursday, 27th August at 11.30 am. This will be followed by a service at Cromer crematorium at 1 pm. Under the current restrictions numbers are limited to 30 at each of the services and Ron’s family will, of course, have priority. Deacon Ron will be greatly missed. If you would like to share any appreciation or memory relating to his life and work with us please email it to John Bolger (bolger@waitrose.com) and he will copy it onto the remembrance page on this website.
Don’t forget that the Sunday obligation has been suspended. If you wish to attend a Saturday or Sunday Mass you need to book a place with the co-ordinator for each church:
