“Do not wait for the last judgement. It takes place every day.”
The readings for the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time focus on the themes of judgment and the end of the world. In the first reading from Malachi, we are reminded of the day of reckoning when the arrogant and evildoers will face consequences, while those who honour God will experience healing and righteousness. In the second reading, Paul emphasizes the importance of hard work and responsibility, urging the community to avoid idleness. Finally, in the Gospel of Luke, Jesus predicts the destruction of the temple and warns of future trials yet assures His followers of divine wisdom and protection during these times.
Fr. Peter
This Sunday is World Day of the Poor.

Bottles – not just of wine but of any kind eg. bath essence, shampoo etc.
Sweets, Cakes/cookies (delivered near to the time). Important point: ingredients must be listed, please.

A Second Collection Appeal will be made at all parish Masses next week, 22nd/23rd November for donations to the Sacred Heart SVP Conference. The St Vincent de Paul Society group will report on their work over the past 12 months with the homeless, the lonely and deprived. The appeal will be not only for donations this Christmas time and for the coming weeks but we seek ongoing support in the form of regular benefactors and most of all new members to volunteer and come forward to help with the growing need to respond to the poor within our very parish boundary.
