Dear Friends,

Today’s Gospel is a fascinating story of an encounter that begins on a homely level and ends with a meeting of souls. It is also a classic example of evangelisation. After her meeting with Jesus the woman runs to tell others about what she has experienced.

46 people have now sent in their booking forms for the parish trip to France in October. Only 1 more place left!

Father James

Now that we are well into Lent make sure you have picked up the Lent leaflet listing all the Masses, Services and Devotions taking place over the coming weeks, events that help us on our journey to Easter. More leaflets are available in each church.

Bishop Alan Hopes will preside at a Deanery Lenten Station Mass at Poringland on Wednesday, 23rd March. Mass will be at 7 pm with Confessions from 6 pm.

We pray for Margaret Battigan and Alexander Whitwell who died recently; we remember their family and friends at this time. We pray also for those whose anniversaries occur this week and one from last week that was regrettably omitted: Ron Gibbs; Gerald Metcalf, Geoffrey Soden, Kathleen (Kay) Pearce, Henry (Dukie) Leeland, Denis Condon, James (Jim) McCartan, Ivy Cafferky, Lawrence Carroll and Herbert Coates. May they rest in peace.
