16th Week in Ordinary Time 2020
In today’s Gospel we hear more parables. Again the theme is sowing and the growth of the seed. These are parables about the kingdom of God: they reveal its first beginnings as well as its growth. Like the mustard seed the kingdom has lowly beginnings but reaches out to the whole world.
We are getting used to wearing face coverings in church as well as socially distancing. From this weekend it will no longer be necessary to book a place for weekday Masses. For the present we will continue to do so for weekends. John Bolger is co-ordinating this and can be contacted on 01692 581516 or 07526 369318 (mobile) or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Sunday Masses are at the normal times. Weekday Masses are as follows:
Tuesday: 9.30 at Sacred Heart, Wednesday: 9.30 at St Helen’s, Friday: 9.30 at St John of the Cross. Please see Mass Times for the coming week’s Masses.
Remember to pray for all our sick parishioners: Maria Wilby, Matt Butler, John Gowing, Derek and Frances Palman, Kevin Fitzmaurice, Graham Burdett and Mary Carr.
We remember David Battigan who died recently and those whose anniversaries occur at this time: Irene McEllin, Irene Harrison, Eva Dooney, Frank Diamond, Terence Green Anthony Randall and Florence Cullingford.
Does anyone have a kitchen or farmhouse table they no longer need?
The total for last weekend’s collection was £613.
