“God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer.”
On the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C, we are reminded to make space for God. Serving is good, but we also need to stop and listen. God wants to be with us, not just through our work, but in our quiet moments too. The readings show us both action and listening. Abraham serves the Lord with great care. Mary sits at Jesus’ feet and listens. Martha tries hard to serve, but she misses the quiet moment with Jesus.
Fr. Peter
We welcome the return of Father Peter after a fortnight away. Regretfully, he missed the UK’s attempts to rival, or at least match, weather temperatures with those of Goa!

Request to those who go to the parish hall after Sunday Mass for tea or coffee. It would be greatly appreciated by those on ‘refreshment’ duty if, before leaving the hall, you could kindly help by stacking your chairs and tables in the area reserved for them. If left they give considerable extra work dealing with these heavy items for those who have provided the refreshments.
