A WARM WELCOME to all our VISITORS. Do feel free to stay for coffee after Mass. “One off” gift-aid envelopes for your collection are available at the back of the church for those who would like to use them. Thanks.

CONGRATULATIONS, FATHER!  We do congratulate Father David on his appointment to be Vicar General for our Diocese: of course, from our standing, there could be no worthier candidate!

TODAY IS WORLD MISSION SUNDAY:  there will be a second collection for the Association for the Propagation of the Faith.  For those who pay tax, special envelopes are available at the back of the church to gift-aid your donation.

The Rosary, said during October: at Hoveton before Saturday Mass at 5pm; Aylsham – Sundays at 8.30am and NW at 10.30am.

Collectors  Please continue to take a Mass count and record the numbers for the next two weeks; sheets are at the back of the church.  Thanks.

BENEDICTION  – 3pm today (Sunday) at the Sacred Heart – for the whole parish.

CELEBRATIONS for the end of the Year of Faith.  Together with Pope Francis and every Diocese across the world, the Diocese of East Anglia, in accordance with Bishop Alan’s expectations, will be marking this moment with a special celebration, over three days – Friday 22nd through to Sunday 24th November, the Solemnity of Christ the King.  Amongst various events, on the Friday there will be a torchlight procession of the Blessed Sacrament from Norwich Castle to the Cathedral, and an All Night Vigil; also, on the Saturday a ‘Solemn Mass of Celebration & Commissioning of each Parish for Mission’ at 11am.  Please put your names to both/either of the two lists in the porch so that we can provide coaches for both events.  Friday – the coach will pick up – Aylsham 6pm, N Walsham 6.25pm, Hoveton 6.50pm and drop off passengers at Castle Mall at 7.30pm: it will collect from the Cathedral at approx. 10pm. On Saturday – coach will pick up: Aylsham 9.00am, N Walsham 9.20am & Hoveton 9.40am, expected to arrive at 10.15am for 11am Mass. Refreshments available in the Narthex.   It will depart at approx. 2pm. Please make every effort to take part in some way as a witness of faith in this Year of Faith.  We will just ask for a small donation to help cover the cost of the coaches.

SENIOR CITIZENS’ GRP –  Monday 21st October: am – Computer Workshop; pm – Red Cross outreach to older people (a new project); presentation by Charlotte Lister.

ST HELEN’S 4TH WEDNESDAY CLUB  will meet on 23rd October from 11.30am until 4pm: lunch is at 12.30pm followed by an afternoon of filling the shoeboxes for the Shoebox Appeal (Samaritan’s Purse).  Please bring items suitable for the various age/gender groups along with you.

FAIRTRADE items will be sold today at Aylsham.

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS  Each church really does need to be represented. We still need 1 nominations from North Walsham, please. Nomination forms are at the back of each church.  Please, look around and ask anyone you think suitable.  Forms, to be handed to Fr. David by next Sunday, please (October 27th).  Other nominations are still welcome.

JOURNEY INTO FAITH – How to become a Catholic, or know more about the Catholic Faith.  Wednesdays at 2.30pm in the Presbytery.  All welcome.

CHRISTMAS CARDS in aid of Support Cambodia will be on sale today (19th/20th) at our three churches.  Please try to buy a pack or two as we continue to give much needed support to the community in Svay Sisophon.

SHOEBOX APPEAL – leaflets, necessary for packing up shoeboxes, are  available at the back of the church (North Walsham & Hoveton).  Deadline for collection is Sunday 17th Nov.  Aylsham have their own system for this appeal.

“YEAR OF FAITH”  There is still time to put your thoughts into words about your faith and in so doing we can form a collection of testimonies from our parish.  We’ve now had a few submissions come in  – don’t be shy (it can also be very helpful to others) What does your faith mean to you?  (No more than 400 words).

CATHEDRAL LIBRARY The Ducket Library at the Cathedral is well worth a visit if you are in Norwich on a Tuesday or Thursday morning.  It has around 4000 publications on a wide range of religious topics and is a lending library for the Congregation of the Diocese of East Anglia.  The library staff are very willing to be involved with any study or research projects people might be undertaking.

We pray for Arthur Pitman who died last week and for his family and friends: his Funeral Service will be on Thursday (24th) at 11.00am at the Sacred Heart. We also remember those whose anniversaries are at this time including: Kevin John Barry, John William Perrin, Margaret (Peggy) Trevallion, Aloysino Antony Faupel, Adrian Joseph Beresford (Ted) Frye, Frank Taylor, Irene Gladys Przybyla, Henry Honey, Joan Gwendlen Weston and Anthony (Tony) Frederick Crouch.
May they rest in peace.  Amen.
