NEWSLETTER 20.12.20

19/12/2020 by John

4th Sunday of Advent 2020.
Sea Sunday.
20th –24th December.
Today’s readings are about promises made to David (1st reading) and Mary (Gospel). They both relate to the Incarnation that we will be celebrating this Christmas week. The promises tell of God’s actions in the history of his people. Like David and Mary we approach God with nothing of our own to offer. All that we have and are is given by grace – and God’s grace enables us to receive and respond. Mary becomes ‘full of grace’; David becomes a king with an eternal descendance. That God wishes us to share eternal life is, as Paul tells us, the way the eternal God wishes things to be.

If you wish to attend a Sunday Mass you need to book a place with the co-ordinator for each church:
John Bolger at Sacred Heart – 01692 581516 (bolger@waitrose.com);
Fran Ludden at Aylsham – 07849 602227 (fran.ludden@btinternet.com);
Richard McGreevy, Hoveton – 07730 817580 (richardmcgreevy@supanet.com)

Weekday Masses: this week Wednesday: 9.30 at St Helen’s.

Christmas Timetable:
Christmas Eve. 12 noon at Sacred Heart: Vigil Mass of Christmas. 6 pm at Sacred Heart: Christmas Family Mass (fully booked). 9 pm at St John of the Cross: Midnight Mass (fully booked).
Christmas Day. 9 am at St Helen’s: Dawn Mass (fully booked). 11 am at Sacred Heart: Mass of the Day.
