5th Sunday of Lent.
Today’s Gospel reading points forward to the Passion of Jesus. The request of the Greeks ‘we want to see Jesus’ continues the theme of personal encounter with the Lord that we find throughout the Gospel. Jesus will include them, as he does us, in his words ‘I shall draw all men to myself’.
Tuesday, 23rd March will be a national Day of Reflection to mark the anniversary of the first lockdown. The bishops of England and Wales have asked every parish to make it a Day of Prayer. Each of our three churches will take part. At St Helen’s there will be Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament from 9.00 to 10.30 am. At the Sacred Heart there will be Mass at 9.30 am followed by Exposition and Confessions. At St John of the Cross the church will be open for prayer from 11.30 to 12.30.
