Since Christ himself has said, ‘This is my Body,’ who shall dare to doubt that it is his Body?”
The Solemnity of Corpus Christi Year C celebrates the gift of the Eucharist. It reminds us of God’s love and the unity of the Church through the Body and Blood of Christ. Corpus Christi is the celebration of the abiding presence of a loving God as Emmanuel– God with us – in order to give collective thanks to our Lord for his living with us in the Eucharist. The feast also gives us an occasion to learn more about the importance and value of the “Real Presence” on Jesus — body and blood, soul and Divinity under the appearances of bread and wine — so that we may appreciate the Sacrament better and receive maximum benefit from the Eucharist.
