A WARM WELCOME to all our VISITORS: we hope you have a very enjoyable time here in beautiful North Norfolk. Do feel free to stay for coffee after Mass and meet some of our parishioners. “One off” gift aid envelopes for your collection are available at the back of the church for those who would like to use them. Thanks.

TODAY’S INSERT  speaks about Legacies; one off donations and weekly collections.  Please do read it when you get a few minutes.  The parish is immensely grateful to everyone for the generous giving to the parish.

TODAY the Feast day of Our Lady of Peñafrancia is celebrated; this afternoon there will be a Procession at 1.00pm from Broads Tours to St Helen’s Church (Horning Road West, Hoveton, NR 12 8OJ.  This will be followed by Mass at 2.00pm and at 3.00pm Reception, Programme and Fellowship.  All are welcome to join in the Procession, Mass and Reception.

ALSO TODAY  Pro-Life Pilgrimage to Walsingham, led by Bishop John Sherrington.  Please see poster on notice church board.

SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP – Mon. 23rd Sept: am – informal; pm A presentation
by Neil Storey, starting at 1.30pm, on the 1953 floods. All parishioners are welcome.

FR ROBERT BARRON’S DVD “CATHOLICISM”  The first DVD of the series will be shown Monday 23rd September at 2.30pm at the home of Terry and Janet McIlwee – 11 Hartwell Road, Wroxham, NR12 8TL: tel no. 01603 782414.  Do experience this amazing revelation of our faith.

ST HELEN’S 4TH WEDNESDAY CLUB  Owing to circumstances beyond our control, we are not able to use the facilities at St Helen’s on 25th September.  We have not found it possible to make any alternative arrangements and our Harvest themed meeting has had to be cancelled.  We are sorry and are in the process of contacting our members personally.  Our next meeting will be on 23rd October when we will be filling the shoe boxes for the appeal Operation Christmas Child.

MACMILLAN COFFEE MORNING – Biggest Coffee Morning in the World is at Aylsham on Friday 27th September at 10.15am after Mass.  Home baking, FREE coffee refills, book stall.  All are welcome

BIBLE GROUP  next meet on Friday 27th September in parish hall at 2.30pm.

COMMUNITY MEETING at St Helen’s after Mass on Saturday 28th Sept.

‘YEAR OF FAITH’ PARISH VISIT TO ST JOHN’S CATHEDRAL, NORWICH on Wednesday 2nd October.  TODAY Sat/Sun is the Final Day for signing the lists to visit the Cathedral, led by Fr. David. Contact Clare Hardie 01603 897609.  for details. The parish will pay for the coach fare.  A parishioner who is unable to travel on the coach is offering a lift by car for up to three people or, if wheelchair users, for just two places.  Please speak to Fr. David for more details.

A FIRST COMMUNION PROGRAMME 2013/14  If your child is in year 3 or above and you wish them to be enrolled in the Parish Preparation for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist, please complete a registration form for enrolment to be found at the back of the church – asap.

THE ROSARY  will be said during October: at Hoveton before Saturday Mass at 5pm; Aylsham on Sundays at  8.30am and N W at 10.30am. Volunteers needed to lead at the Sacred Heart: please sign the rota in the porch.

ROTAS  for both readers and Eucharistic ministers at North Walsham are ready for collection.  Please pick up your named copy

MINUTES of the Parish Pastoral Council Meeting (20th June) are now on the parish website and on church noticeboards.

DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BECOME A CATHOLIC? Then please direct them to the presbytery  (4 Norwich Road, North Walsham) on Friday 27th September at 7pm to find out about our Journey in Faith Programme.  Even better, bring them  to the meeting – a very informal meeting so don’t be shy.

THANKS TO ALL who came to the Bingo Night last week, a really enjoyable evening: £197 was raised for the Support Cambodia Education Fund.

(Aylsham) – Saturday 5th October at 7pm.  Chilli or quiche with crusty bread & salad; dessert, wine & soft drinks.  £7 – proceeds to St John’s Roof Fund.
