Newsletter 24.12.17.

Dear Friends,

Today is the final Sunday of Advent and the Gospel tells the story of the Annunciation to Mary.

After the last Sunday Mass we put away the purple of Advent to replace it with the white of Christmas. The first Masses of Christmas are celebrated on Sunday evening and continue on Monday morning, Christmas Day.

God bless.

Father James

Application forms for First Communion children are still available in our church porches.

The Senior Citizens Group at North Walsham will resume their meetings following the Christmas break on Monday 8th January when they will have a ‘planning’ meeting. A light, cooked lunch will be provided. Anyone wishing to come along to future Monday meetings will be most welcome. Please contact Teresa on 01692 405007.

Collections taken at our Christmas Masses are the traditional Christmas gift to your priest. The Sunday collection envelopes which are for Parish Funds should be placed in the normal Sunday collection. Visitors may like to use the “one off” gift aid envelopes for the collection, available at the back of the church. Many thanks.

Please note that Mass on St Stephen’s Day (Boxing day) at North Walsham is at 11.00 am.

We have been informed that regretfully there will be No Free Diaries (2018) that are usually supplied to us owing to numerous problems the company has been experiencing.

CAFOD ‘World Gifts’ catalogues are available. Please read and see how your gift can make a difference to those in need even after Christmas.

Epiphany Candlelight Mass – Saturday 6th January at 5pm For all young people and their families from across the diocese: followed by hot dogs, a bonfire & fireworks – a collection of presents for refugee children (pl indicate on wrapped presents whether for boy or girl or either and approximate age). Held at The White House, 21 Upgate, Poringland, Norwich organised by the Diocesan Youth Serv.

We pray for Rosalie Bates and John Booth who died recently and our sick parishioners, including Barbara Appleton, Margaret Wynes, Peter Walmesly and Linda Dawson.

We pray for those whose anniversaries occur this week including: Nora Slater, Francesco Carlucca, Agnes Webster, John Hall, Patricia Coles, Thomas Proud, June Cole, George Mousley, Raymond Miller and Cecilia Booth-Skinner.
May they rest in peace.

The 2018 Yearbook & Calendar (Ordo book) is now available in our churches – £3.00

Copies of the Diocesan Newspaper are also available – free!

Fr James and Deacon Ron would like to wish parishioners and visitors the Peace and Christmas and    every blessing for the New Year.
