A WARM WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS: You are welcome to join parishioners for coffee after our Sunday Masses (Aylsham and North Walsham).

CAFOD Lenten Family Fast Day Envelopes (Friday 22 March) will be collected in the 2nd Collection today as you leave Mass.  Have you gift aided your donation? 

HIS HOLINESS POPE BENEDICT XV1 a devotional card is available today, please take one as you leave mass and pray for His Holiness at the conclusion of his ministry as Bishop of Rome and Supreme Pontiff. 

LENT 2013: We are now well on the way in our Lenten Journey.  Do make sure you have picked up the mauve leaflet ‘Lent 2013’; copies still available at the back of the church; in it you will find listed all the Masses, Services and activities taking place over the coming weeks, events that can help us on our journey.

“Bird’s eye view” for this week of Lent: Stations of the Cross: Hoveton Wednesday after Mass; Aylsham Friday after Mass; North Walsham Friday 12noon.  Hunger Lunches: North Walsham on Thursday and Aylsham on Wednesday (see booklet for venues); Ecumenical Study Course—Hoveton/Wroxham area Thursday at Hoveton St John Church at 7.30pm.  All welcome. 

STATION MASS  our first  Station Mass is this Wednesday 27 February at The Sacred Heart, North Walsham at 7.30 pm. Please make every effort to come along and if you are able to give a lift to others please do offer; equally, if you require a lift, don’t be too shy to request one. Volunteers are needed to make coffee/tea. 

SENIOR CITIZENS’ GROUP  next  meeting Monday 25th   am.  – informalpm. – a presentation by Rob Hardy ‘The San Damiano Crucifix’.

ST HELEN’S 4TH WEDNESDAY CLUB for our senior citizens will take place on 27th February.  Coffee from 11.30 am, hot lunch at 12.30 pm followed by home spun entertainment, social activities and a free raffle, finishing at 4.00 pm with tea and cake.  New members always welcome to join us in friendship and community. 

BIBLE STUDY GROUP  which is now studying Fr Robert Barron’s Book ‘Catholicism’ has moved its meeting times from Tuesdays to the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month and will now meet in the Hall so as to use the DVDs which accompany the book.  Next two meetings are 8th and 22nd March 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm.

HOLY WEEK CHOIR  as per last year we are planning to form a special choir for the three major Holy Week Services.  It is open for anyone from our three communities to come along.  Practices will be held on Thursday 21st March 7.00 -8.30 pm, Saturday 23rd March 1.15 – 2.45 pm and Monday 25th March 7.00 -.30 pm.  Do note these dates in your diary.

FIRST CONFESSION SERVICE next Saturday (2nd March) at 10.30 am.  Please keep the children in your prayers.

ECUMENICAL CENTERING PRAYER Meetings at 25 Sendall Road, North Walsham, Tuesdays.  Next meeting; 26th February; 2-3.30pm. 01692 402398.

HCPT 111 (NORWICH) will be making a brief appeal at the end of Mass next weekend before taking a retiring collection towards their pilgrimage to Lourdes this Easter. 

WOMENS’ WORLD DAY OF PRAYER  Friday 1st March local services at St Nicholas C of E Church, Market Place, North Walsham at 2 pm. with light refreshments served after the service.  At  Horstead Church at 1.45 pm, preceded by a light lunch in the Tithe Barn from 12.45 pm.  Everyone welcome.

 DIOCESAN VOCATIONS WEBSITE  www.callingeastanglia.org. a new site dedicated to the promotion of Vocations to the Priesthood, Permanent Diaconate and Religious Life in our Diocese. Further information at the back of the church. 

ROTAS (NW) for Readers & Ministers of Communion are available in the porch. 

SUPPORT CAMBODIA for more details of the recent visit, read the CAMBODIA BLOG on the parish website, better still, come to the OPEN MEETING – Saturday 9th March at 10.30 am at St John of the Cross, Aylsham. Pictures, news and first-hand reports from Svay Sisophon plus crafts and homemade cake. 

TAIZÉ LENTEN PRAYER  around the Cross at St John’s Cathedral on 17th March when we will be welcoming a brother from the TAIZÉ Community. Young people (14+) at 6.00 pm. Everyone welcome at 7.00 pm. Refreshments at 8.00 pm. More information at the back of the church. 

RACE NIGHT will take place next Saturday, 2nd March at 7pm in the parish hall, North Walsham.  It is in aid of Clare and Amelia who will be taking children to Lourdes with the HCPT: there will also be a raffle in aid of Support Cambodia.  Please bring your own drinks.  Contact Clare Glenn on 01263 734853 or clareglenn@ymail.com for any other information.

We pray  for all those whose anniversaries occur at this time, including Daphne Evelyn De Soissons, Gerald Aloysius Hearne, Roy Douglas Copperwheat, Robert (Bob) Horace Cockrill, Michael Paul McCann, Edith Gladys (Rusty) Collins, Mary Eileen Clarke, Monica Hardingham, Josephine (Jo) Ringer, Colin Arthur Johnson and Agnes Mary Daniels. May they rest in peace.  Amen.
