Today’s Gospel tells the story of the Prodigal Son. It is really the story of God as a ‘prodigal’ father who welcomes his erring son with a family party!

‘Day by Day’, a Lenten Journey of Prayer for 2022 – (£1). There are still a few books available.
At St Helen’s each Wednesday during Lent there will be Stations of the Cross immediately after Mass. Morning Prayer (integrated into the weekday Mass) has started again. Holy Hour & Eucharistic Adoration is on Thursdays at St Helen’s, at 3pm – a time for quiet reflection, meditation and contemplation.
Looking ahead, a Service of Reconciliation will be held at the Sacred Heart Church on Saturday 9th April at 11.30am when 3 priests will be available for individual confessions.
The Chrism Mass will take place at the Cathedral on Tuesday, 12th April at 12 noon. We are planning to share a coach with Sheringham provided we have enough people who wish to attend. Please sign your name to the list in the church porch this weekend.
Young people in Year 8 upwards are invited to the Ignite Festival organised by the diocesan youth service. It will take place at Swaffam over the weekend 30th April – 1st May with a pilgrimage walk on 2nd May to Walsingham.
To comply with current legislation we need to have a trained first aider and a qualified fire marshalat our services. Therefore we are arranging training for both these roles which we expect to comprise a one evening session for each. To ensure cover we need three of each in all our three churches i.e. nine persons in all for each disciple. If you are interested in volunteering for either of these positions, please call on 07730 817580 to show your interest. There will be no personal cost involved.
Churches Together North Walsham – the Lenten Lunches. These are served at different churches at 12.30pm on Thursdays, the next one being on 31st March in the St Nicholas Church Hall: speaker, the Rev. David Warner from the St Nicholas Church. The proceeds go to Christian Aid. Please see the poster in the porch for further dates, venues and speakers. All are welcome.
