NEWSLETTER 27.04.25

25/04/2025 by John

“Do not let the past disturb you, just leave everything in the Sacred Heart and begin again with joy.”

Divine Mercy Sunday Year C celebrates God’s infinite mercy and forgiveness. The readings highlight themes of faith, healing and the importance of believing in Christ’s resurrection. It’s about God’s mercy, the necessity for trusting Faith, and our need for the forgiveness of our sins. God revealed His mercy, first and foremost, in sending His only begotten Son to become our Saviour and Lord through His suffering, death and Resurrection. Divine Mercy is given to us also in each celebration of the Sacraments (all instituted to sanctify us), especially that of Reconciliation.

Fr. Peter

Next weekend a 2nd Collection will be taken for the Myanmar Earthquake Appeal. This request has, unfortunately, been delayed over the Easter period so, please give generously to help meet their dire needs.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Walsingham is on Monday 5th May. If you wish to travel on the coach you will need to add your name to the list in your church porch by TODAY, Saturday/Sunday (26th/27th) April. THIS IS IMPORTANT because to book the coach we need to know the numbers wishing to travel. Holy Mass at the Catholic Shrine will be at 12.00 noon following which pilgrims are able to process down the holy mile to the Priory grounds for Benediction. Don’t forget to bring a packed lunch!

CAFOD Family Fast collection last month raised £1,631.20. Thank you for your generosity.

‘FAITHFUL FLAMES’ will be starting again from NEXT SUNDAY 4th MAY but with a new procedure. There will be a new admissions form for you to fill out for your children, keeping a record of the number of children in the group and also importantly ensuring correct contact information. Email: faithful.flames2025@gmail.com

The Friends of St Francis will next meet at 2.30pm on Sunday 4th May at St George’s Church, Sprowston Road, Norwich.  All are welcome.

Churches Together (North Walsham) –  Lent Lunches.  Thanks to everyone who supported the Sacred Heart’s Lent Lunch.  The event raised £172 for Christian Aid.
