NEWSLETTER 27.07.25

25/07/2025 by John

“Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”

The 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time Year C helps us remember that God hears us. He is kind, strong, and close. When we pray, we can trust that He is paying attention.

The main themes of today’s Scripture readings are the power of intercessory prayer, the Our Father as the ideal prayer, and the necessity for persistence and perseverance in prayer, with trusting faith and boldness. In short, the readings teach us what to pray for and how to pray.

Fr. Peter

This Sunday is World Day of Prayer for Grandparents and the Elderly.

Parish Trip to Rome; 8th June 2026. Please sign the list of names at the back of your church if you wish to join the group. This promises to be a wonderful experience so do add your name to the list. As already pointed out, the final cost will depend on the number of people going so let’s increase that number! Any queries, please contact Peter Brander on p.brander@hotmail.co.uk

Our Annual Mass in the Garden of Remembrance (at North Walsham) will take place on Tuesday 26th August at 6.00pm. Everyone is welcome but especially those who have their loved one’s ashes buried there. If it is wet, Mass will be held in the church. Please pass on the details of this important Summer event to all you know would wish to be present.

Thanking you for your co-operation to the request made to those who go to the parish hall after Sunday Mass for tea or coffee. Please, to those who are able, continue to fold your table and stack your chair when you leave the hall each Sunday after Mass – it is greatly appreciated by those on ‘refreshment’ duty.

Afternoon Cream Tea with Prosecco is being served at Judi’s house in Oulton, near Blickling on Sunday 3rd August from 3-5pm. Tickets cost £10. To book or for further details, please contact Fran Ludden on 07849 602227 or fran.ludden@btinternet.com
